Job Title: Managing Applications Developer (Power BI Developer)

Location:St. Edmonton Alberta CANADA T5K 2J5

Employment Type: 6 months Contract

Position Type: Remote

Pay Range: CAD 65 CAD 70/hr.

Position Overview

Fujitsu is seeking a full-time Managing Applications Developer (Power BI Developer) to join a cross-functional Agile delivery team supporting enterprise modernization initiatives.
This role is responsible for designing and developing Power BI datasets built on virtual data warehouses creating semantic models and delivering governed dashboards and reports. The position supports continuous delivery enterprise system modernization and data integrity across complex platforms.
The ideal candidate will bring strong semantic model development expertise and experience working in collaborative Agile environments.

Key Responsibilities

Power BI Solution Development

Design and build robust Power BI datasets on top of virtual data warehouses.
Develop semantic models DAX measures calculated columns and governed dashboards/reports.
Deliver scalable and performant business intelligence solutions support registry modernization.

Data Integration & Modeling

Work with SQL Server and other enterprise data sources.
Ensure accurate data modeling and representation for analytics and reporting.
Optimize dataset performance and maintain data integrity.

Agile Collaboration

Partner with business stakeholders product owners and Agile team members.
Participate in stand-ups sprint planning reviews retrospectives and backlog refinement.
Deliver iterative releases aligned to business needs.

Source Control & CI/CD

Use Git for version control in collaborative development.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable automated deployments.
Maintain code quality documentation and deployment standards.

Continuous Improvement

Identify technical and process improvement opportunities.
Proactively manage risks and contribute to enhancement of BI capabilities.
Support adoption and governance of enterprise reporting standards.

Required Qualifications

5 years building Power BI datasets on top of virtual data warehouses.
5 years developing semantic models DAX measures and governing dashboards/reports.
2 years collaborating with business areas to drive reporting and analytics adoption.
2 years using source control (Git) in collaborative development environments.
1 year working with CI/CD pipelines.

Strong proficiency in:

Power BI
DAX
SQL Server
Data modeling
Experience working in Agile environments and tools.

Preferred / Asset Experience

Experience replacing systems of record (registries banking insurance taxation financial or billing systems).
Experience in enterprise modernization initiatives.
Strong understanding of enterprise data governance practices.

Top Three Skills (Must-Have)

5 years building Power BI datasets on virtual warehouses
5 years developing semantic models DAX measures and governed dashboards
2 years using Git for collaborative source control
