In this high-impact leadership role you will oversee every stage of self-performed concrete and formwork projects - from preconstruction through turnover. We are seeking a driven leader with strong ethical values and a proven track record of developing high-performing teams while delivering complex projects successfully.
Reporting to: Manager Self-Perform Operations
Key Responsibilities

Support business development efforts by building and maintaining long-term relationships with clients consultants engineers and industry partners to enhance future self-performed concrete opportunities.

Collaborate with Estimating and Project Development teams to secure concrete and formwork work.
-
Lead the preconstruction phase and provide direction to project teams through construction and turnover.

Promote and implement industry-leading technologies systems and innovations to maintain competitive advantage.

Build mentor and develop diverse high-performing teams through coaching and growth opportunities.

Lead project teams to:

Develop project-specific safety and quality plans
-
Establish profit and productivity targets
-
Evaluate and select appropriate formwork systems
-
Manage procurement of materials subcontractors and equipment
-
Assemble field crews and supervision teams
-
Partner with senior operations leaders to ensure accountability for productivity profitability safety quality and schedule performance.

Drive operational improvement initiatives related to self-performed concrete.
-
Develop and maintain documentation standards including start-up closeout and productivity tracking records.
-
Manage staff performance set individual and team goals aligned with annual Key Result Areas (KRAs).

Liaise monthly with peer groups across North America to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.

Skills & Knowledge

Proven ability to manage complex multi-storey institutional and commercial self-performed concrete and formwork projects using various formwork systems.

Strong leadership with a focus on mentoring and team development.

Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with clients partners government agencies and subtrades.

Strong risk management understanding related to self-performed concrete work.

Excellent analytical planning prioritization and execution skills.

High integrity accountability and attention to detail.

Strong negotiation conflict resolution and communication skills.

Innovative mindset with the ability to challenge conventional approaches and provide strategic solutions.
Qualifications
-
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Construction Management Engineering or a related field.
-
Minimum 10 years of construction experience including at least 5 years managing progressively larger and more complex self-performed concrete and formwork projects.
-
Estimating experience in self-performed concrete.
-
On-site Project Coordination or Project Management experience.
-
Experience working on remote or logistically challenging projects.
-
Experience with Last Planner System is an asset.
-
Experience with Procore Construction Management Software is an asset.
-
Ability to travel regularly throughout Alberta British Columbia and the Northwest Territories.
