Description of Work

Training and Programming
Deliver mental health training for DAC staff across leadership career progression and enrichment programs. Develop and present responsive programming on wellness suicide prevention stress management trauma recovery mental health literacy and stigma reduction. Support peer support units by providing individual and group crisis and criticalincident interventions including afterhours response. Contribute to SHIELD career progression by providing clinical supervision to interns and provisionally licensed staff as directed. Provide administrative supervision for masterslevel interns and trainees. Conduct inservice training on evidencebased practices mental health interventions HIPAA compliance ethics and state law. Participate in afterhours criticalincident response at NCDAC worksites in coordination with SHIELDs Peer Support Unit.

Clinical and Professional Peer Support Services
Receive referrals following critical incidents or from peer support units NC EAP and other DAC stakeholders. Deliver evidencebased mental health interventions for individuals couples and groups tailored to corrections professionals. Provide holistic wellness coaching consultation and case management with emphasis on trauma and stress recovery. Maintain accurate timely clinical documentation ensure confidentiality and manage record releases. Provide triage urgent consultation and care recommendations including referrals to external providers. Maintain a schedule including traditional and alternative hours per HSPM II direction. Deploy as needed for major workplace or critical incidents including natural disasters with expected day and overnight travel.

Analytics and Management
Document track and report program utilization and outcomes using electronic management systems and recommend improvements under HSPM II direction. Manage a highvolume clinic program and training schedule and assist in coordinating staff schedules. Oversee responsive programming for assigned NCDAC locations. Manage a large mentalhealth caseload within a tiered system of care. Direct the work of clinical interns within SHIELDs training program.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Range: $63927.00 - $111871

Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

  • Experience with complex trauma mental health resiliency and delivery of mental health education and clinical interventions to groups couples and individuals.

  • Understanding of the policies procedures and funding mechanisms of the state and federal programs that address mental health needs of individuals and families.

  • Knowledge of mental health ethics and compliance laws program assessment resource management and clinical and program documentation.

  • Knowledge of best practices national trends and policy initiatives that support the mental wellbeing of criminal justice professionals.

  • Skill in the analysis and evaluation of programs development of training and education and presentation of programmatic efficacy.
