RECRUITMENT RANGE: $87617 $90000/DT10

The role supports the NC Department of the Secretary of State by managing and strengthening its enterprise cloud environment. It oversees the design implementation administration security and performance of cloud infrastructure ensuring that services remain resilient and aligned with state technology standards. The position maintains and enhances missioncritical systems operating across a hybrid onpremises and cloud architecture with a focus on delivering secure scalable and reliable cloud capabilities for the agency.

• Monitoring service health dashboards audit logs and performance metrics to proactively identify and resolve system issues.
• Provisioning and deprovisioning user accounts shared mailboxes distribution lists Teams channels and SharePoint sites in accordance with established governance policies.
• Configuring and maintaining email security anti-phishing and anti-malware protection.
• Supporting hybrid identity and integration with on-premises Active Directory environments
• Provisioning configuring and maintaining secure scalable cloud infrastructure.
• Configuring security controls logging vulnerability management and responding to incidents within our cloud environment.
• Developing and maintaining automation scripts using PowerShell to streamline administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Maintaining technical documentation standard operating procedures and system diagrams

Management Preferences

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

• Demonstrated expertise in administering Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online SharePoint Online Teams and PowerApps ensuring secure and reliable collaboration across the organization.
• Strong proficiency in Azure administration including virtual machines storage accounts identity management and role-based access control to support scalable cloud operations.
• Proven ability to implement and manage security compliance and governance policies across M365 and Azure environments including Conditional Access MFA DLP and device management.
• Capable in PowerShell automation for user provisioning reporting configuration management and streamlining repetitive administrative tasks.
• Effective troubleshooting and problemsolving capabilities across cloud services with the ability to analyze logs diagnose service issues and coordinate resolutions to maintain high availability.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in computer science information technology or a closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of progressive experience related to cloud or on-premises infrastructure administration; or

Associate degree in computer science information technology or a closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive experience related to cloud or on-premises infrastructure administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
