Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead mine site accounting and financial reporting functions.
- Oversee general accounting cost accounting and budgetary controls/analytics.
- Manage inventory accuracy and cycle counting processes.
- Own FP&A activities including budgeting forecasting report generation and data integrity.
- Track capital project spending and fixed asset capitalization.
- Ensure timely month-end quarter-end and year-end close processes.
- Support internal and external audits; implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Analyze and report financial results versus budget/forecast.
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports for site and corporate stakeholders.
- Prepare financial statements compliance reports and regulatory filings as required.
- Ensure adherence to corporate and site-specific policies and procedures.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across operating departments.
- Maintain effective communication with site managers and corporate office; proactively identify and communicate issues.
- Collaborate with all departments as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Identify improvement areas and track metrics for continuous improvement projects.
- Assist in the implementation of integrated financial systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Competencies Skills and Knowledge:
- CPA designation preferred.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Minimum 5 years in a financial leadership role (public company experience preferred).
- Advanced skills in Excel and QuickBooks.
- Experience in construction project management agile/lean practices and FP&A.
- Proven track record in selecting/implementing ERP systems within mining/industrial/manufacturing sectors.
- Experience with internal controls and SOX implementation.
- Knowledge of tax and transfer pricing issues.
- Proficient in IFRS accounting standards and best practices.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) critical thinking and data analysis skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite OneNote and Teams.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- At least 5 years as a financial leader (public company experience preferred).
- Expertise in Excel and QuickBooks.
- Experience in construction project management agile/lean practices and FP&A.
- Experience with ERP system selection/implementation in mining/industrial/manufacturing.
- Experience with internal controls and SOX.
- In-depth knowledge of tax transfer pricing and IFRS regulations.
