Job Summary (List Format): Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Provide skilled support services to residents under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT).
- Implement treatment plans designed by the OT to improve residents abilities in activities of daily living (ADLs) mobility cognition and psychosocial functioning.
- Assist with resident evaluations and contribute to documentation related to functional status and progress.
- Deliver direct therapy services in a compassionate safe and effective manner.
- Monitor residents responses to interventions and promptly report changes or concerns to the OT.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and communicate relevant updates about residents.
- Educate residents and caregivers on therapeutic exercises and safety techniques to promote independence.
- Maintain accurate timely and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record system.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of adaptive equipment and assistive devices.
- Adhere to facility policies CMS guidelines and professional standards of practice.
- Uphold ethical and professional conduct in accordance with state licensure and certification requirements.
- Work within a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-Term Care setting as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team.
- Perform physical tasks including standing lifting and transferring residents as required.
