Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced OB Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment in an acute care setting. This role requires a well-rounded nurse skilled in Labor & Delivery (L&D) Postpartum (PP) and Nursery (NSY) care. The ideal candidate is confident managing laboring patients assisting with deliveries and providing immediate newborn and post-delivery maternal care.

Licensing Requirements

Active Hawaii RN License required by start of assignment
Travelers without an active Hawaii license must apply upon offer acceptance

Schedule & Shift Details

13-week contract
Variable shifts (Days and Nights)
12-hour shifts
36 hours per week following first week of orientation
Scheduled 12-hour call at least once per month
No guarantee of hours or shift preference
Holiday coverage required
Must arrive the Thursday prior to start date for employee health appointment on Friday

Key Responsibilities

Provide care for laboring mothers
Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries
Perform fetal monitoring and interpret tracings
Deliver immediate newborn care
Provide postpartum assessment and education for mothers
Collaborate with interdisciplinary OB team

Unit Information

Labor & Delivery: 8 labor beds
Postpartum: 18 beds

Equipment & Systems

EMR: EPIC
Fetal Monitoring System: GE/Centricity
Computerized charting system

Experience Requirements

Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
Strong competency in L&D postpartum and newborn care

Required Certifications

BLS (BCLS) Required
NRP Required
STABLE Recommended
Advanced Fetal Monitoring Recommended
