Associate (Bankruptcy and Restructuring)
About the Role:
A leading national law firm is seeking a highly qualified Bankruptcy and Restructuring Associate to join its Los Angeles office. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney who is looking to build sophisticated experience in both in-court and out-of-court restructurings within a collaborative and well-respected practice.
In this role you will work closely with experienced partners and clients on complex restructuring matters. You will gain meaningful exposure to debtor representations (both in and out of court) as well as creditors committee engagements. Associates are given substantive responsibility and direct involvement in high-level strategy negotiations and court proceedings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent debtors in Chapter 11 proceedings and out-of-court restructurings
- Advise creditors committees in complex restructuring matters
- Draft pleadings motions disclosure statements and reorganization plans
- Conduct legal research and develop strategic analyses
- Participate in negotiations and court appearances
- Collaborate closely with partners and cross-functional legal teams
Qualifications:
- 2 4 years of experience in bankruptcy and restructuring matters
- Experience with both in-court and out-of-court restructurings
- Debtor representation and creditors committee experience strongly preferred
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent research writing and communication skills
- Admission to practice in California required
