Summary:
-
Fabricate complex high-quality furniture and wood-surfaced subassemblies using hand and stationary woodworking tools
-
Interpret engineering drawings and material specifications to ensure finished products meet design and quality requirements
-
Coordinate with supervision to maintain compliance with customer-approved design samples
-
Utilize various woodworking techniques and tools to complete production requirements
-
Champion safety 5S and housekeeping standards while protecting aircraft interior components
-
Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma principles to reduce cost cycle time and labor hours
-
Use material tracking systems to manage parts demand track discrepancies and complete work sign-offs
-
Assume lead responsibilities when required; mentor and train less experienced technicians
-
Oversee assigned projects and coordinate task delegation with the lead technician
-
Participate in safety audits and promote workplace safety awareness
-
Assist in maintenance of shop equipment and JSAs
-
Coordinate work activities with other departments and backshops
-
Adapt to schedule changes as needed
-
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
-
4 years of cabinetmaking experience
-
Aerospace industry experience preferred
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Ability to read write speak and understand English
-
Advanced knowledge of cabinetmaking processes and materials
-
Working knowledge of inspection and process specifications preferred
-
Computer literacy required
-
Ability to climb ladders and stairs work in confined spaces and lift up to 40 lbs
-
Ability to work any shift
-
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
