Overview
Tekberry is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Facilities Inspector to support building operations within a dynamic university environment. This is a hands-on facilities support role focused on building inspections maintenance identification corrective work order coordination and damage assessment documentation.
This is not a maintenance technician role. The individual in this position identifies issues documents findings coordinates corrective actions and ensures facilities meet operational and safety standards.
Candidates must be comfortable walking buildings daily documenting deficiencies interfacing with vendors and internal teams and working independently.
Position Summary
The Facilities Inspector performs routine building inspections identifies maintenance deficiencies enters corrective work orders and supports damage billing assessments. The role works closely with custodial teams building managers and outside vendors to ensure facilities remain safe functional and compliant.
This position requires strong attention to detail excellent documentation skills and the ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Building Inspections & Maintenance Coordination
- Perform routine facility inspections across assigned buildings
- Identify maintenance needs (safety concerns furniture issues deficiencies etc.)
- Enter corrective work orders for identified maintenance issues
- Process non-standard requests and initiate appropriate documentation
- Notify Building Manager and coordinate with outside agencies as needed
- Work closely with custodial teams to identify deficiencies and recommend solutions
Damage Assessment & Documentation
- Conduct damage billing assessments
- Compile and document findings thoroughly
- Provide detailed photo documentation for billing purposes
- Maintain accurate records and asset accountability
Data & Reporting
- Gather and manipulate inspection data using Excel
- Support reporting and tracking of maintenance findings
- Ensure accuracy in documentation and follow-through
Operational Support
- Maintain accountability for keys and assigned assets
- Assist with special facility-related projects as directed by the Building Manager
- Interface professionally with Stanford colleagues and outside vendors
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an educational or facilities environment
- Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated customer service experience
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Professional presentation and appropriate attire
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Ability to respond effectively to complicated or non-standard requests
- Ability to learn and apply policies and procedures accurately
- Strong organizational skills and independent work capability
- Good judgment when escalating issues or coordinating solutions
- Comfortable working in a dynamic and deadline-driven environment

- 100% onsite role
- Frequent standing walking and building navigation
- Desk-based computer tasks and documentation
- Occasional extended hours may be required
- Interaction with custodial staff facilities teams and external vendors

- Use of telephone and fine motor tasks (typing writing filing)
- Rare kneeling or crawling
