Employment Type: Full-time
Location: HYBRID with 1-2 onsite days/week in Glenview IL
Travel: Occasional travel to our sites and events
Position Overview
Position Overview
3STEP Sports is looking for a Technical Project Manager-Mobile & Web to actively support our proprietary software technology PlayerFirst Tech (PFT). This is an opportunity to contribute your expertise to an industry-leading application that is relied on by tens of thousands of parents and athletes every day. You will support the planning coordination and execution of projects within PlayerFirst as well as lead sprint execution and delivery across our mobile and web engineering teams. This role is execution-focused and directs sprint planning backlog hygiene ticket quality cross-team coordination and delivery predictability in addition to ensuring that product initiatives are translated into well-structured technically actionable work and delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
Sprint Execution & Planning
- Lead spring planning backlog refinement and capacity planning
- Ensure tickets are clearly scoped technically defined and ready for development
- Partner with engineering leads to sequence and size work
Ticket & Backlog Quality
- Translate product requirements into well-written epics and user stories
- Define acceptance criteria and technical dependencies
- Maintain Jira hygiene and ensure backlog readiness
- Reduce ambiguity and rework during development cycles
Cross-Team Coordination
- Manage dependencies between mobile web backend and QA
- Coordinate release timelines across platforms
- Identify and resolve blockers quickly
- Communicate sprint progress and risks to leadership
Process Optimization
- Improve agile workflows and ceremonies
- Track and report on velocity burndown and throughput
- Lead retrospectives and implement improvement initiatives
- Help identify and mitigate risk
Requirements
- BS/BA degree preferred
- 3-7 years of experience in the following:
- Project Management for UI software products
- Technical expertise with mobile and web software applications
- Spring Planning and Execution
- Ticket writing and maintenance
- Timeline delivery
- JIRA and Atlassian Sweet
- AI tools within PM space
- Working closely with Product Engineers and Development Leads
- Proficiency in translating technical information to non-technical audiences
- Excellent communication organizational and problem-solving skills
- Self-organized and comfortable engaging in a dynamic collaborative and fast paced work environments
