80% development
20% meetings backlog (they have 2 sessions/wk for backlog)

Role Overview

The Appian Developer for Barings Connect builds and supports the enterprises digital clientexperience platform delivering secure scalable workflows that integrate Appian with Barings broader technology ecosystem. This role involves endtoend development; requirements analysis SAIL UI/UX design processmodel engineering integrations data modeling and fullstack enhancements-to ensure seamless onboarding reporting and clientservice operations. The developer partners with business users and crossfunctional engineering teams to implement new capabilities resolve production issues maintain regulatory and security compliance and continuously improve platform performance and reliability.

• Participate in full SDLC: requirements design development testing deployment.
• Build Appian objects: SAIL UIs interfaces expression rules process models record types integrations constants groups security models.
• Design and develop integrations (REST APIs Webhooks Document services Entra/Okta/SharePoint/DocuSign/Salesforce).
• Create and optimize database objects (tables views stored procedures).
• Ensure adherence to Appian best practices design standards governance and compliance.
• Perform troubleshooting debugging and resolution of workflow issues.
• Support production applications with L2/L3 issue resolution.
• Prepare architecture documentation and participate in peer reviews.
• Work with testing teams to validate endtoend workflows and UI behaviors.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes across environments.
• Collaborate with business teams to refine requirements and translate into scalable designs.

• Hands-on Appian development (2 7 years depending on level).
• Strong knowledge of Appian architecture process models SAIL records data sync integration objects.
• Familiarity with Appian best practices and performance tuning.
• SQL proficiency (MariaDB).
• Experience with REST APIs integration design and troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of BPM concepts workflow automation and UI/UX patterns.
• Experience with Git DevOps Agile testing frameworks.

• Appian Associate / Senior / Lead Developer Certification.
• Experience with RPA products (AppianRPA Selenium Cucumber).
• Experience Java Python or other fullstack languages.
• Experience in financial services compliance or regulated industries.
• Experience with Appian upgrades data migration and Process HQ.
