Job Summary:Help students their families and the educational system overcome problems that impede learning. Assist in the identification of and provision of services for special education students who attend the assigned school building through assessment direct service consultation act as liaison with school home and community. Help students This is accomplished through assessment direct service consultation and liaison with school home and community. Help students resolve such personal emotional and social problems that interfere with their adjustment to school and their capacity to enjoy the fullest benefits of the education offered Duties and Responsibilities: Perform casework service with individual students to correct those personal social or emotional maladjustments related to their educational and social casework service with parents as an integral part of the task of helping students to increase the parents understanding their constructive participation in resolving their childs problem and their knowledge and use of appropriate resources and collaborate with other school personnel in gathering and giving information on a case and in establishing and planning for respective roles in the modification of the students screening and assessment in accordance with the established State and Federal regulations. This complements and draws upon the resources of the family other members of the interdisciplinary team and/or community with the goal being effective holistic services to children with special cause and effect of stress disability disease and deprivation on human behavior and development in those children whose learning is affected by physical neurological intellectual and emotional communicate and comply with child welfare outreach and liaison between school home and community systems by making home visits and interacting in the community. Work directly with parents at school home and the community at the parents convenience to alleviate their concerns about their childs education emotional well-being and self-esteem and to help parents obtain needed community services to meet their own or their familys needs. Maintain an annotated log of home visits with students patrons and parents as to date time place individuals name and reason for individual and group counseling for special education students related to their handicaps in the areas of attitudes behavior social relations and the expression of the referral of students to and serve as liaison with such outside agencies as the Welfare Department Child Placement Bureau Juvenile Court and the like as as liaison between home and school when considerable follow-up is necessary as in welfare cases foster home children and disadvantaged in the timely reporting documentation and record keeping of suspected child abuse and/or with the proper placement of students in regular and special staff meetings and committee meetings as professional expertise in current practices. Keep abreast of new developments in the field. Participate in in-service training other duties as may be assigned by supervisor/administrator. Education Training and Experience:Masters Degree in Social or eligible for a Colorado Department of Education Special Services Provider License with a School Social Worker experience and training as determined by content -depth knowledge of content of classroom management and conflict transcriptsCriminal background check and District fingerprinting : Applicants who upload a copy of their transcripts or certifications to their application may choose to redact any dates included on the transcripts or certifications including date of birth and dates of attendance/graduation/completion.
