Rutgers The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Disability Specialist for the Office of Employment Equity. This position reports to the Assistant Director Accommodations Office of Employment Equity. Among the key duties of the position are the following: Assists in maintaining a program for ensuring the universitys compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act as amended (ADA) and the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination (disability & religion) (LAD) with regard to University employees. Consults and collaborates with the employee/faculty requesting accommodation the employees department and others as appropriate and prepares communications regarding same. Trains supervisors and other affected persons in the requirements of the ADA and LAD the universitys procedures for handling requests for workplace accommodations and related issues. Assists in maintaining a central record of accommodation requests received by the university and of responses to such requests.
