Harvesting Labourer Mushroom

On behalf of Friendship Specialty Mushroom Farm Ltd. ( located at 8110 Upper Prairie Road Chilliwack BC V2P 6H3 we are recruiting for 4 mushroom harvesting labourers with the following details:

Employment type: Full-time (40 hours/week) permanent
Wage: $18.85 per hour
Start date: As soon as possible

Job Summary

Friendship Specialty Mushroom Farm is a specialty mushroom farm operating year-round in Chilliwack BC. It is hiring Harvesting Labourers to support daily harvesting and packing operations in our greenhouse mushroom growing facilities.

Main Duties

• Pick mushrooms; sort weigh and pack mushrooms for shipment;
• Load unload and transfer mushroom boxes and packing materials;
• Load mushroom substrate onto racks using hand tools and farm equipment;
• Clean growing areas and packing areas;
• Assist with substrate preparation and related farm tasks;
• Follow food safety security and bio-security procedures;
• Perform other related duties as required.

Work Setting / Conditions

• On-site work (no remote work);
• Greenhouse environment; rural area;
• Repetitive tasks; standing bending and lifting required.

Job Requirements

• Education: No degree certificate or diploma required;
• Experience: At least 1 year of mushroom growing/harvesting experience (or related farm harvesting experience);
• Language: No specific language requirement;
• Skills: Ability to lift and move boxes and materials and to work in a physically demanding environment.
