This is a core engineering Technical Expert position for Metal Gaskets including cylinder head exhaust manifold/turbo and exhaust hot end.



Responsibilities

In this position...

  • Conduct Tech Club meetings on a weekly basis to review and signoff design rules and requirements assessment done by component engineers.
  • Share design best practice in Tech club meetings.
  • Attend Team of 4 meetings to provide technical consultation and help direct component sourcing decisions.
  • Maintain foundation documents (DFMEA P-Diagram Boundary Diagrams SCCAF CQH etc)
  • Maintain generic ESOW.
  • Utilize 3X5W process to drill down root cause and identify PRA.
  • Lead PRA implementation.
  • Authoring and maintain design rules engineering specifications and requirements.
  • Authoring and maintaining component level design validation methods.

What youll do...

  • Support engine program launch as needed (on-site if required).
  • Supplier site visit on an as needed basis to support issue resolution.
  • Authoring and maintaining engineering specifications.
  • Lead in future technology development and author associated DFMEA.
  • Provide technical lead in issue resolution utilizing 8D process.
  • Support purchasing to create/maintain commodity business plan for components.
  • Develop new suppliers when needed.
  • Support global requests for support (China Europe Mexico FSAO and India)
  • Assist in TVM and resourcing actions as needed.
  • Mentor and educate new engineers.


Qualifications

Youll have...

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
  • 10 years experiences with minimum 6 years in metal gasket component design and release required.
  • Demonstrated track records of utilizing G8D and 3X5W processes for issue resolution.
  • Demonstrated leadership skill.
  • Demonstrated project management skill.
  • Good communication skill.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidates skills and experience and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope responsibility and competitive market value.
