About this opportunity:
As the Manager Asset Integrity & Chief Inspector for the Conventional Business Unit you will lead the team responsible for maintaining and strengthening Cenovuss Asset Integrity Management Programsincluding Pressure Equipment Pipeline and Pressure Piping Integrity. This Calgarybased role requires a balance of strong technical depth strategic oversight and people leadership. You will guide a multidisciplinary team of Integrity Engineers Data Technicians students and contractors while partnering closely with Operations and Engineering to ensure safe compliant and reliable performance across the asset base.
As a senior technical leader you will provide expert oversight of inspection corrosion mitigation regulatory compliance and integrity engineering while driving longterm planning continuous improvement and disciplined execution of integrity programs. Youll also serve as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external regulators ensuring Cenovus maintains safe operations and meets all regulatory obligations.
What youll do:
Lead sustain and continuously improve Asset Integrity Management Programs (Pressure Equipment Pipelines and Pressure Piping) ensuring safe compliant and reliable operations.
Maintain the integrity and safe operation of all pressure equipment. Assure pressure equipment integrity and compliance to code.
Provide people leadership including coaching mentoring developing and performancemanaging a team of integrity professionals while modeling Cenovus values and safety culture.
Offer expert guidance in inspection corrosion engineering chemical applications monitoring programs and MOC processes.
Champion the Cenovus Operations Integrity Management System (COIMS) and PEIMs ensuring HSE expectations are embedded in all integrity activities and field operations.
Guide asset integrity strategic planning including longterm integrity roadmaps inspection plans facility assessments incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead audit participation (LOD 2 and 3) regulatory interactions and compliance activities with agencies such as ABSA AER BCER BCTSA and CER.
Maintain and improve integrity databases master data accuracy and documentation standards while supporting technical leads across pipelines equipment corrosion and chemicals.
Partner across Operations Engineering and corporate functions to align integrity priorities share best practices and ensure consistent execution across the business.
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
Legally authorized to work in Canada
A current and valid certification of competency by ABSA as an In-Service Pressure Equipment Inspector is required.
A Bachelor of Engineering or Engineering Technologist diploma in a related discipline (e.g. Mechanical Engineering Metallurgy Welding Chemical or Process Engineering) or 1st or 2nd Class Power Engineer is required.
Minimum 12 years of experience in corrosion inspection or related integrity engineering disciplines. Experience as a Chief Inspector would be considered an asset.
Expert knowledge and application of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code CSA Z662 and related industry standards.
Familiarity with regulatory bodies (e.g. ABSA AER BCER BCTSA CER).
Strong working knowledge of upstream oil & gas operations and facilities.

For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 drivers license a satisfactory driving record and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A drivers abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
