General Manager Internal Audit

St John of God Health Care is seeking an experienced pragmatic and forwardthinking internal audit professional to lead the development delivery and continuous enhancement of our Internal Audit function.

Reporting into the Chief Risk & Strategy Officer this is a critical leadership role that directly supports our strategic and operational objectives and provides highvalue assurance and advise to executive leadership and the Board.

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure SJGHC maintains a robust and contemporary internal audit and assurance framework that supports effective risk management strong control environment and delivery of our strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement SJGHCs Internal Audit Plan and Internal Audit Strategy.

• Lead and manage outsourced/cosourced internal audit providers to ensure highquality valueadding assurance activities.

• Deliver internal audit reviews in line with approved methodology and bestpractice standards.

• Provide timely accurate reporting to the Executive Committee and the Audit & Risk Committee.

• Manage the internal audit budget and maintain strong relationships with audit partners and key stakeholders across the organisation.

• Work with the General Manager Risk & Compliance to identify emerging risks and ensure an agile responsive audit program.

• Oversee the project assurance plan for major initiatives and coordinate delivery with external providers.

• Support key organisation initiatives to strengthen SJGHCs control environment and risk management practices.

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant tertiary qualification and audit certification with substantial experience leading teams delivering internal audit programs and reporting to senior governance bodies. They will bring strong healthcare sector understanding across corporate clinical operational and projectrelated risks along with experience using technology to enhance audit and broader GRC practices.

A collaborative approach is essential supported by strong influencing skills and the ability to drive improvement in risk management and assurance. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders are also required.
