About the Team

About the Role

As a DevOps Engineer in our team you will have the opportunity to work on innovative cloud platform technologies (AWS GCP) and implement tools to automate maintenance and support our engineering environments. You will also work closely with our Platform Engineering team to deploy changes to our engineering environments with a view to enabling verification of these changes.

About You

This role will support one or more direct or indirect contracts with the U.S. Federal Government which due to federal government security requirements mandates that all Workday personnel working on the contracts be United States citizens (naturalized or native).

Basic Qualifications

• 8 years DevOps experience

• 5 Experience with public Cloud platforms specifically AWS

• 5 Proficiency with deployment automation / configuration management tools

• 3 years of Terraform experience

Other Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience

• Consistent track record of building tooling automation and/or services in one or multiple languages (e.g. Go Python Bash or Java)

• Experience debugging and optimizing systems and code

• Ability to architect analyze and support complex distributed systems

• Automating deployment scaling and management of containerized applications with Docker or Kubernetes

• Passion to optimize and automate with the maturity to know when and where its appropriate

• Mentoring and coaching engineers to inspire professional growth

• Experience influencing and affecting technological change at the team level

• Experience with FedRAMP environments is desired.

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus as well as annual refresh stock grants.
