Paramedic

The Paramedic must possess and apply skills necessary to perform the duties of a Paramedic in accordance with all applicable laws regulations and County protocols and operational policies in a dignified and compassionate manner including:

• Respond to emergency and non-emergencies and deliver patient care support and evaluation in a pre-hospital setting such as on the scene and during transport to emergency facility calmly efficiently and effectively
• Operate an emergency medical vehicle
• Examine and evaluate patient to determine the right course of treatment
• Provide patient with emergency care by utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment
• Document patient information condition and treatment
• Complete patient care information using IMAGE TREND software insurance forms evaluation forms and all other forms in a competent and timely fashion
• Maintain patient confidentiality and perform all care with respect for patient rights
• Required to communicate professionally with medical personnel staff at emergency facilities to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and/or to arrange reception of patients to the appropriate center
• The Paramedic has primary responsibility for the operation of the unit to which assigned

The Paramedic must perform routine tasks in and around the ambulance service building including:

• Responsible to maintain daily cleaning schedules of the Union County Ambulance Service living quarters.
• Responsible to maintain daily cleaning of assigned ambulance.

Qualifications :

Valid Illinois drivers license

Current Illinois or Nationally Registered Paramedic Certification/License

Successfully complete employment screening

Work Schedule is 24 hours on shift and 48 hours off

$18.62 per hour
