The First Nations Health Consortium Ltd. of Alberta (FNHC) is looking to hire an Indigenous Access Worker. This position is the first point of contact for families and service providers seeking supports to meet a childs needs.

An Access Worker listens asks questions and gathers important information from a caller and connects the family to FNHC Regional Service Coordinators Support Services Team or other resources as appropriate.

Working to uphold Jordans Principle the Consortium provides a service coordination role in Alberta for all First Nation children living on or off reserve and serves as the link between any First Nation child and the service or program need for the child.

Summary of Key Responsibilities


  • Communicate effectively with families service providers and community partners.
  • Apply traumainformed care principles and culturally grounded best practices.
  • Collect track and maintain accurate data to support Enhanced Service Coordination.
  • Use technology effectively including Outlook Word Excel and internal database.
  • Create and maintain secure electronic records in accordance with confidentiality and privacy requirements.
  • Crosstrain and support other departments as required.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar or related role.
  • Certification in Human Services Social Services or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with First Nations communities with demonstrated cultural knowledge and awareness.
  • Current clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector and Child Intervention Checks.
