About the Role
You will provide evidence-based psychology services including comprehensive assessment treatment and education for people with persistent pain at the Barbara Walker Centre for Pain Management. You will work with an inter-disciplinary team comprising doctors psychologists physiotherapists nurses and other team members to plan and deliver effective goal-directed programs for people with persistent pain with a focus on improving function facilitating participation in valued activities and reducing suffering. Position duties include:
- Provision of psychological assessment coordinated care planning and treatments for people with persistent pain
- Delivery of services in individual and group settings via a range of delivery modes including face to face and telehealth
- Participate in inter-disciplinary case review for co-ordinated and comprehensive care planning
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team about psychological assessment outcomes and appropriate management options consistent with patient goals
- Complete referrals and communications to external service providers where appropriate
Your Contribution
- Current registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Psychology Board of Australia)
- Endorsement as a Clinical or Health Psychologist with AHPRA or willingness / intention to engage in the registrar supervision program to achieve endorsement
Current National criminal history check or willing to obtain

About the Barbara Walker Centre for Pain Management
The Barbara Walker Centre for Pain Management (BWCPM) is located at St Vincents Hospital Fitzroy and is predominantly an ambulatory (outpatient) inter-disciplinary service that provides assessment treatment and consultation for patients with persistent pain. The service comprises specialist pain clinicians (Pain Medicine Physicians Pain Medicine trainees Psychiatrist Physiotherapists Psychologists Clinical Nurse Consultants Allied Health Assistant and Research Assistant) working as an integrated team to address the medical physical and psycho-social factors contributing to the persistence of pain and its consequent disability. The clinic services a diverse group of clients from around Victoria many with complex needs offering treatment both individually and in groups.
