Emergency Veterinarian

About the Role

You will provide high-quality emergency care for patients requiring immediate medical attention. This role focuses on triage diagnostics treatment planning and managing hospitalized patients in a collaborative hospital environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating and triaging emergency patients

  • Assessing diagnosing and developing treatment plans

  • Managing and monitoring hospitalized patients

  • Overseeing veterinary technicians carrying out treatment plans

  • Performing emergency surgeries and providing critical care

  • Delivering a high standard of patient and client service

About the Hospital

This is a well-established 24/7 emergency and specialty veterinary hospital providing advanced care for urgent and complex medical cases in dogs and cats. The hospital functions as a referral center working closely with primary care veterinarians to support patients requiring specialized diagnostics treatment and ongoing care.

The team includes experienced emergency veterinarians specialists and highly trained veterinary professionals collaborating across multiple disciplines such as surgery internal medicine cardiology neurology and oncology. The facility is equipped with modern diagnostic tools advanced treatment capabilities and intensive care support to provide high-quality medical care for critically ill patients.

Location

Located in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles the region offers year-round sunshine and access to outdoor recreation including hiking parks and scenic trails. Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree

  • Active veterinary license (or ability to obtain) in the state of employment

  • DEA license or eligibility

  • Experience in emergency medicine preferred

  • Internship training or previous emergency experience is highly valued

Compensation

Compensation is negotiable based on experience and credentials.

Typical full-time compensation range:

$200000 $250000 annually under a PROSAL model
