Job Description

TheEHS Managerwill beresponsible forleading the facilitys environmental health and safetyprogram while creating a safety-focused culture.They will create deploy and champion policies procedures and processes that align withNovolexsHuman Performance(HP)initiative and ensure compliance with all local state and federal standards.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies for all facility areas including both operational and office environments to mitigate safety hazards and improve performance.
  • Provide leadership coaching & mentoring managing performance and rewarding & recognizing employees.
  • Lead multiple projects simultaneously with a hands-on approach in a fast-paced environment to achieve thedesired outcomes and results.
  • Develop deploy and monitor the EHS Management System in amanner that ensures compliance to Federal State Local Customer and align with Corporate EHSrequirements.
  • Implement and administer an internal EHS hazard/risk register assessment and compliance auditing processdesigned to validate alignment to best known standards and practices and compliance with regulatoryobligations.
  • Develop implement and institutionalize a process to identify andeliminate high risk occurrences through review of historical incident data leading/warning indicators identifiederror traps plant process and equipment audits; job and activity observations; and highly specified JSAs andSWIs.
  • Champion the Human Performance (HP) initiative ensuring the plant is effectively implementing and using thismethodology.
  • Set the frequency for and enable access to training requirements related to environmental health and safetypractices for the site; ensureall required recurring training is administered and documented.
  • Oversee the investigation of work-related illnesses and injuries; investigating all Company incidents to identifyroot cause and appropriate corrective actions.
  • Partner with Human Resources on Workers Compensation claims management and communicating with thecarrier about the most effective method to control care; may accompany sick hurt or injured employees to theappropriate medical facility.
  • Audit hazardous energy sources and other identified hazards to determine appropriate risk mitigation and workwith engineering or maintenance to implement such controls.
  • Site lead for emergency response first responders security and otherEHS related programs andprojects ensuring the implementation of industry best practices;organizes and directs an employee SafetyCommittee holding meetings to increase awareness.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree inrelated discipline preferred; or in-lieu of a degree an equivalent number of years of additional related work experience.
  • 3 years experience leading EHS in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Related post-education trainingcertifications such as CIH CSP CPEA or CHMMpreferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of local state and federal reporting requirements related to EHS and experience responding toinquiriesfrom relevant government agencies.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects under tight timelines; works with a sense of urgency.
  • Displays excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to establish and maintain effective channels of communications internally externally and at all levels.
  • Strong organizational interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (Outlook TeamsWord ExcelandPowerPoint) programs.
