Manufacturing Engineer

In this positionyoull

Overview
This role involves creating precise programs for CNC5-axismilling machines and lathes ensuring the highest quality standards in production. TheManufacturing Engineerwill collaborate with engineers and machinists tooptimizemanufacturing processes and improve efficiency.Our facility currently has Haas vertical mills with 5-axis trunnion tablesHass 5-axis horizontal mill Mori-Seiki Doosan Kingston lathes all with Fanuc controls.This will be an on-site 5 days a weekposition

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement CNC programs for5-axismilling and lathe operations usingMastercamsoftware

  • Help with the design and implementation of new fixtures for product lines

  • Utilize CAD/CAM software for programming and simulation of machining operations.

  • Conduct setupswithmachiniston anynew programson theCNC machines ensuring proper tooling and fixtures are in place.

  • Perform quality checks using precision measuring instruments such as calipers micrometers bore gauges and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).

  • Apply GD&T principles to ensure compliance with design specifications.

  • Collaborate with manufacturingmanager and quality managertoidentifyopportunities for lean manufacturing improvements.

  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments tooptimizeperformance.

  • Collaborate with machinists quality and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to programming tooling and machining processes.

  • Validate and verify CNC programs for accuracy prior to release to the shop floor.

  • Maintain documentation of programming changes setups and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in CNC programming with experience in both CNC5-axismilling machines and lathes.

  • Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM software includingMastercam SolidWorksFeaturecam and familiarity withleanmanufacturing principles.

  • Experience withHaas and Fanuc controlsisamust.

  • Solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) practices.

  • Mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and blueprints effectively.

  • Familiarity with tooling requirements and geometry calculations for various machining operations.

  • Excellent math skills for precision measurements and calculations related to machining processes.

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work in aproduction styleenvironment.
