Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Truck and Bus Mechanic to join our professional team in Iceland. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing repairing and maintaining heavy vehicles including trucks and buses ensuring all systems operate safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose repair and maintain mechanical cooling AC and electrical systems in trucks and buses
Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance
Troubleshoot and service hydraulic and pneumatic brake systems
Work with electrical and electronic vehicle components and systems
Ensure all repairs and maintenance meet safety and quality standards
Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience as a truck bus or heavy vehicle mechanic

Technical or vocational education in mechanics or a related field

Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems

Experience with electrical and electronic vehicle components

Basic English communication skills

Category B driving license

Willingness to relocate to Iceland on short notice

Benefits

(All numbers are Brutto)

Lot of overtime available.

Salary: ISK 3700 per hour. Overtime is paid at an 80% premium equivalent to ISK 6660 per hour.

Salary increase: After three (3) months of employment if both the employer and the employee are satisfied and wish to continue the cooperation the hourly wage will increase to ISK 4000 per hour. Overtime at this rate will be ISK 7200 per hour.

Accommodation: Starfx will arrange accommodation.

Monthly rent ranges from ISK 80000 to ISK 110000 depending on availability.

o All Starfx accommodation includes free internet access as well as a pillow duvet and bed linen ready for use upon arrival.

Transportation: Starfx will provide a car if required for the position.

The cost is ISK 30000 for the first month and ISK 60000 per month thereafter. There is a possibility to share a car with other employees.

Relocation & Administration Support: Starfx will handle all necessary preparations including:

Insurance arrangements

Registration for an Icelandic ID number (Kennitala)

Assistance with opening a bank account

Provision of a local SIM card

Example of net salary in euros.

3700 ISK per hour 25.46 euros

Overtime 6660 ISK 46 euros

168 hours 380000 ISK or 2600 euros

230 hours 540000 ISK or 3700 euros
