The school is seeking a reliable and organised Science Technician to support the Science Department with the preparation and management of laboratory equipment and materials.
The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring that practical science lessons run efficiently safely and effectively.
Prepare equipment and materials for science experiments and demonstrations
Set up laboratory apparatus for lessons across Biology Chemistry and Physics
Maintain laboratories preparation rooms and equipment
Ensure that health and safety regulations are followed at all times
Manage chemical stocks and laboratory supplies
Maintain accurate inventory records
Support teachers during practical lessons where required
Ensure safe storage and disposal of chemicals and materials
Assist with GCSE and A-Level practical assessments
Support extracurricular science activities such as science clubs or STEM events
Experience working in a laboratory or school science department
Knowledge of health and safety regulations including COSHH and CLEAPSS
Strong organisational and practical skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent attention to detail and reliability
Interest in supporting science education
