In 2023 we became the lead consultant and On-Site Operations Manager for Deutsche Energy Terminal GmbH (DET)Germanys state-owned terminal operator created to respond to the national energy supply challenges triggered by the Ukraine crisis.

Tasks

  • Manage and administer multiple small and medium-sized contracts across the full contract lifecycle (from tendering and award through execution and close-out).
  • Track contractual obligations deliverables milestones and performance metrics across numerous parallel work packages.
  • Support procurement and tender processes for EPC and O&M related packages including preparation of bid documentation commercial evaluation and contract award recommendations.
  • Draft review and negotiate contracts and amendments (e.g. EPC sub-packages supply agreements logistics contracts spare parts agreements service contracts).
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual requirements timelines and budget constraints.
  • Coordinate closely with engineering project management logistics legal and finance teams to ensure alignment between contractual commitments and operational execution.
  • Identify and mitigate contractual risks including liability exposure performance guarantees liquidated damages and compliance requirements.
  • Manage variations change orders claims and extensions of time (EOT) ensuring proper documentation and commercial assessment.
  • Maintain structured contract tracking tools (contract registers obligation trackers risk logs) to ensure transparency across multiple ongoing packages.
  • Support spare parts procurement logistics coordination and supplier management in operational or offshore environments where applicable.
  • Contribute to commercial strategy by ensuring that contractual structures support project profitability and risk mitigation.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Business Administration Supply Chain Management Law or a related field.
  • 37 years of professional experience in:
  • EPC project environments (Engineering Procurement & Construction) or
  • Procurement / contracts management of technical packages or
  • Spare parts / logistics contract management in offshore wind energy infrastructure or comparable sectors.
  • Proven experience managing and tracking multiple small and medium-sized contracts simultaneously.
  • Hands-on experience in procurement processes contract drafting and negotiation of technical supply or service agreements.
  • Solid understanding of EPC structures contract frameworks (e.g. FIDIC) and supplier management in infrastructure or energy projects
  • Experience in offshore wind LNG energy infrastructure or comparable asset-heavy environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify contractual risks and mitigation measures.
  • Highly structured working style with the ability to maintain oversight across many parallel contract packages.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interface between technical legal and commercial stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English (German is a strong plus)
