As a Locum Ob/Gyn you will be integral to our healthcare delivery focusing on womens health and well-being. Your expertise will contribute to the management of prenatal perinatal and postnatal care ensuring that we maintain our commitment to excellence in patient outcomes. This role is crucial in supporting our staff and enhancing the overall patient experience within our medical practice.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care to patients
- Conduct routine examinations and assessments
- Manage prenatal perinatal and postnatal care
- Perform surgical procedures as necessary
- Collaborate with nursing and support staff to ensure high-quality care
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Participate in patient education and counseling
- Adhere to all medical protocols and ethical standards
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Current board certification in Ob/Gyn
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Virginia
- Previous experience in obstetrics and gynecology preferred
- Strong clinical skills and a patient-centered approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and priorities
Schedule: 24-hour weekend call shifts
Weekend Volume: 2-3 callbacks 2 admissions
OR Rooms: 1 in L&D 4 in OR
Procedures: C-section vaginal delivery circumcision hysterectomy hysteroscopy surgery for missed AB incomplete abortion ovarian cystectomy D&C and some emergent gyn cases
Must be board-certified
