PRPA seeks an engineeringco-op student interested in employment foreight (8) monthsfromMay 4 2026 - December 24 2026.This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience developprofessional skills and enhance career prospects.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assistthe engineering departmentwiththe design field review and administration of PRPA capital construction projects.
- Various engineering projects will be assigned including but not limited to completing field reconnaissance to confirm the propertys physical characteristics and land surveying.
- Assistwith preparing:
- Concept drawings
- Preliminary budget estimates
- Technical reports for future development proposals
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- At minimum have completed their first year of study in engineering or engineering technology in an accredited university or college and in a Co-op program. Applicants must currently attend school and return to their studies in the subsequent academic year.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solvingand analytical techniques.
- Basic understanding of land surveying.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Basic knowledge of project management and Microsoft Project.
- Knowledge of Revit and Civil 3D is an asset.
- Ability towritea technical report.
- Ability to move safely around construction sites and undeveloped land including climbing ladders and performing moderate lifting.
- Must possess a valid Class 5 Drivers licence and be able to produce a Drivers Abstract.
- Able to obtain security clearance under Transport Canadas Security Clearance Program.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Regular working hours are Monday to Friday 7.5 hours/day with a 1-hour lunch break (unpaid).
- Work will be conducted in both the field and in a field construction trailer (office work).
- This position may require occasional irregular work hours.
The hourly rate for PRPAs co-op position is $30.00.
