Competencies (Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required):
Healthcare Knowledge - Knowledge of medical terminology patient care needs and their role in interprofessional team.
Execution of Delegated Tasks -
Ability to complete delegated tasks within scope of role.
Daily Living Assistance -
Knowledge of personal care and hygiene necessary for quality of life and ability to apply this knowledge to patients in need on a daily basis.
Patient Safety -
Knowledge of the risks faced by patients in a healthcare environment and the ability to take steps to reduce these risks.
Patient-and Family-Centered Practice-
Knowledge of how to convey respect and collaborate with each patient family and/or designated care partner in care.
Cultural Awareness-
Knowledge of people with diverse backgrounds and the ability to convey respect and connect
effectively.
Effective Communication-
Understanding of effective communication concepts tools and techniques ability to effectively transmit receive and accurately interpret ideas information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Uses the language of partnership with patients and families engaging them in their health and health care.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
One of the following is strongly preferred:
PCT training program completion within 24 months of hire
Nursing Student with one semester clinical completed
AND
Experience:
Previous nursing assistant or healthcare experience preferred
Minimum Certifications Registration or License Requirements:
AHA BLS Certification
