Statement: The University of Maine at Augusta is seeking qualified applicants to teach GEY 101: Physical Geology with a laboratory. The successful candidate will be committed to excellence in teaching and to developing an innovative curriculum. The course is taught using a variety of modalities including in-person & hybrid. The primary location for this position will be the UMA Lewiston Center. UMA serves a mix of traditional and non-traditional students and offers a wide array of liberal arts and professional programs leading to certificates associate and baccalaureate degrees. We seek candidates whose teaching scholarship and mentorship supports our mission of transforming lives of students.

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree or higher
  • A background in the physical sciences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior college level teaching experience using new technologies in teaching
  • Experience with learning management systems such as Brightspace
  • Discipline related work experience
  • Teaching non-traditional students
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and interest in contributing to UMAs mission of transforming the lives of students

Salary:Salary is commensurate with qualifications and previous college teaching experience in accordance with the PATFA contract.
