The Prince Rupert Port Authority (PRPA) is a leading industry organization dedicated to the overall planning development marketing and management of the commercial port facilities within the Port of Prince Rupert.
PRPA is seeking a motivated eager-to-learn student to join the community relations team part-time and contribute to ongoing projects and initiatives in particular at the Port Interpretive Centre (PIC). This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience develop professional skills and enhance career prospects.
Summer student employment is for four monthscommencingMay 4 2026 and endingAugust 28 2026unless otherwise specified.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provide engaging education and tours to visitors about the Ports history its current operations and vision for the future.ââ
- Support the planning coordination and delivery of small-scale events activities and programs hosted in the Port Interpretive Centre.
- Assist with community outreach youth engagement and participation at local events.
- Complete special assignment work and provide project support to the Public Affairs team asrequired.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Enrolled in a post-secondary program.
- Excellent interpersonalserviceandcommunicationsskills.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- This is a part-time position at 20 hours per week with the opportunity foradditionalhours as needed.
- This position is primarily scheduled Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work as required.
- Theâstudent will work primarily in thePort InterpretiveCentrewith some off-site community engagement.â
The hourly rate for PRPAs Summer Student positionis$29.00.
