Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. Our Bus Fleet Maintenance Quality Assurance Office is looking for an Apprentice Coach Technician to learn about and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on buses.

Start Rate (Non Negotiable): $25.15/hourly

What will I be doing

• Attend and pass courses and training sessions as designated by the Ministry of Labour Training and Skills Development as well as GO Transit.

Qualification

• Knowledge of motor vehicle repairs normally attained through completion of high school with an emphasis on motor vehicle repairs.
• Minimum of one (1) years experience involving mounting and balancing tires and brake re-building in a bus or heavy vehicle maintenance environment including experience in preventative maintenance and legislated inspections on buses or heavy vehicles.
• Must have a valid Ontario Class G drivers licence and must meet the corporate standard for a good driving record. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Class C drivers licence and Z endorsement.
• Must successfully complete legislated wheel installation course small component rebuilds and tire specialization courses.
• Must successfully complete environmental safety and any other training required by corporate policy as well as obtain job related certifications as required.
