We are looking for Staff AI Forward Deployment Engineerto establish and grow our presence in this role you wont just be building chatbots; you will be the technical architect and strategic lead for our most critical customer deployments. You will bridge the gap between complex AI research and real-world business impact serving as the technical face of Five9 for our clients in the region.

What Youll Do

  • Strategic Execution: Lead the design and deployment of sophisticated NLP models and conversational AI agents for high-stakes enterprise clients.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor a team of AI engineers and data scientists providing technical guidance code reviews and career development.
  • Customer Partnership: Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers translating vague business requirements into robust technical roadmaps.
  • Data Strategy: Oversee the end-to-end data pipelinefrom cleaning and organizing messy real-world text data to implementing advanced RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) patterns.
  • Optimization & Benchmarking: Define the standards for testing virtual agent performance ensuring our models meet high accuracy and ethical AI standards.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with US-based Engineering and Product teams to ensure the voice of the customer in India influences our global product roadmap.

What Were Looking For

  • NLP & LLM Expertise: Deep experience with NLP systems Large Language Models (LLMs) and prompt engineering. You should know how to move beyond out of the box solutions to create production-grade AI.
  • Statistical & Experimental Rigor: A mastery of A/B testing and model evaluation metrics. You dont just build models; you prove they work using data.
  • Consultative Mindset: Exceptional communication and consultative skills with a user-first mindset.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Data Science or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience: 6 years of professional experience in Data Science/ML with at least 1-2 years in a lead or senior capacity.
  • Python Mastery: Expert-level Python skills and familiarity with the ML ecosystem (PyTorch HuggingFace LangChain or similar).
  • Customer-Facing Background: Proven track record of working directly with external clients or stakeholders to deliver technical products.
  • Leadership Presence: Experience working with global teams across different time zones (specifically India and US).
