Job Summary
The Opportunity:
Join a global team of 14000 associates driving scientific breakthroughs every day. Avantor is looking for a reliable energetic Material Handler to join our Edmonton Distribution Center. If you enjoy handson work operating warehouse equipment and being part of a fastmoving team wed love to meet you!
What you bring:
- High School completion or equivalent (GED) is required
- Experience with warehouse systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable with repetitive movement and working with hands/feet simultaneously
- Basic computer skills (Teams and Outlook an asset)
- Forklift/OSHA/HAZMAT certifications (assets)
- Previous Inventory experience (asset)
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification (asset)
What youll do:
- Inbound: Unload freight from trucks/containers; Check shipments for accuracy damage or issues; Move incoming materials to storage locations.
- Order Picking: Pick the correct product lot and quantity; Move orders using forklifts pallet jacks or similar equipment; Label wrap palletize and prepare orders for shipment; Repack and organize products as needed.
- Outbound: Confirm outgoing shipments are complete and correctly labeled; Load product onto trailers or containers; Follow SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
- Equipment & Inventory: Operate equipment safely and keep it clean; Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory; Ensure proper stock rotation and update inventory system.
- Other Responsibilities: Repack/repair damaged good; Keep work area clean and safe; Perform other tasks as assigned.
