Aga Khan University invites applications for a full-time position of Research Coordinator in the Department of Biological and Biomedical Sciences.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for:
Planning organizing and conducting pharmacology laboratory teaching sessions for undergraduate medical students of Years 1 and 2
Planning organizing and conducting molecular biology laboratory teaching sessions for graduate students (MPhil and PhD)
Assistance in conducting physiology and biochemistry sessions for undergraduate medical students
Training elective students in conducting research experiments related to pharmacology
Assisting faculty in carrying out research projects by conducting experiments analyzing data and interpreting results preparing write-ups manuscripts research reports presentations research grant applications and abstracts for publication and grant funding mainly related to pharmacology
Actively participating in preparing and updating the BBS Lab Induction Manual
Raising purchase requisitions and material stock requests for teaching and research supplies and consumables used in Pharmacology lab and faculty research and following up with concerned departments
Assisting the equipment team in identifying equipment in need of replacement and obtaining all information regarding capital equipment that will be purchased including specification requirement optimal temperature humidity power requirement and heat dissipation
Setting up orders for the central stock for teaching and research
Contributing towards day-to-day operations of the lab and assisting in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for BBS laboratories
Organizing workshops seminars and training sessions for BBS lab staff
Any other task assigned by the Chair/Director BBS lab and/or delegate.
Requirements:
You should have:
An MSc in Pharmacology Pharm-D or equivalent
At least two years of work experience related to research and teaching; working knowledge in basic sciences with skills in laboratory teaching
