The Veterinary Research & Oncology Clinic (VROC) at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas invites applications for tenure-track or clinical-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Associate or Full Professor in Veterinary Medical Oncology and Veterinary Radiation Oncology. Candidates must hold a DVM degree or equivalent. Veterinary Radiation Oncologists must be board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Radiology (Radiation Oncology) and Veterinary Medical Oncologists must be board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Oncology). All candidates must be eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Texas. Successful applicants will join our expanding clinical team.
VROC offerscutting-edge innovative therapies for companion animals supported bystate-of-the-arttreatment facilities. Our team works closely with other specialties to provide the most advanced medical and radiation oncology care available. VROC islocatedwithin the Department of Radiation Oncology and benefits from substantial funding from federal and state agencies including multiple R01 grants. These resources support a wide range of preclinical and clinical research areas including novel therapeuticstesting innovativeirradiation regimens medical imaging image-guided therapy heavy ion therapy automatic treatment planning and artificial intelligence driven medical oncology innovations.
The position offers uniquely collaborative opportunities with human oncologists and researchers within the department as well as with investigators affiliated with the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN)-designated Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center one of the largest national cancer centers.
The role will focus primarily on the clinical care of companion animals but will also offer significant opportunities for scholarly growth. This position will contribute to the advancement of One Health and One Medicine approaches and to the development of innovative treatments applicable to both veterinary and human patients.
