The Howard County Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is a six-week program running from July 6 2026 to August 14 2026 designed to provide Howard County youth and young adults aged 14-24 with enriching and constructive summer work experiences.
As a participant in this program the SYEP Participant will be given the opportunity to earn a competitive wage while also learning valuable skills and gaining hands-on experience in various employment settings. Possible employment settings include community organizations private sector companies and government agencies.
Selected SYEP Participants will earn a competitive wage of $ $16.00 per hour (for 18- to 24-year-olds OUT-OF-SCHOOL). Please note that this salary is non-negotiable. Please also note that the program has been revamped with an emphasis on in-person worksites for youth who are 16 years old and older.

Because SYEP Participants may be assigned to organizations and workplace settings that differ substantially from one another the specific duties and responsibilities assigned to an SYEP Participant will also vary depending on the position.
