The Occupational Therapist Lead evaluates and administers rehabilitative/habilitative techniques necessitated as a result of age trauma degenerative disease congenital condition or sudden onset of pathology which requires development maintenance or restoration of function. May be required to care for a variety of diagnostic groups including but not limited to the following: orthopedic and arthritis related conditions; neurological groups including CVA TBI degenerative neurological diseases SCI; and generalized weakness as a result of medical or surgical conditions.

Essential Functions
- Assists management in the day-to-day operations of the Physical Therapy team.
- Conducts comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to determine patients physical cognitive and emotional needs and documents findings accurately and thoroughly.
- Develops individualized treatment plans that outline measurable goals and effective interventions ensuring plans are well-documented and can be executed by other occupational therapists or occupational therapy assistants.
- Provides safe and effective treatment interventions including therapeutic exercises adaptive equipment training and patient education with appropriate documentation for each session.
- Regularly reassesses patient progress updating treatment plans as needed and communicates changes to the care team and referring physician.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team including physicians nurses and other rehabilitation professionals to enhance patient outcomes and ensure a coordinated approach to care.
- Demonstrates competency in administering treatment to a wide range of patient populations adjusting techniques and interventions to meet age-specific and condition-specific needs.
- Maintains a clean safe and organized environment for patients and staff ensuring proper use and maintenance of all therapeutic equipment.
- Provides mentoring and orientation for new staff members and occupational therapy students fostering professional growth and adherence to best practices.
- Ensures accurate and timely billing documentation that reflects services provided and complies with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- 2-4 years experience working as a staff Occupational Therapist required
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of human growth and development; anatomy physiology pharmacology and kinesiology; current methods techniques and purposes of physical therapy; the care and operation of physical therapy equipment
- Requires strong analytical and organizational skills in order to review physicians orders assess functional status develop treatment plans evaluate progress and maintain related documentation
- Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written in order to establish and maintain positive and effective therapeutic/working relationships with patients families physicians and hospital staff
- Demonstrates working knowledge of the English language verbal and written. Abides by the standards of practice as outlined by state and national associations.
- OT - Occupational Therapist Registered Current licensure in the state required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support required
