About the team

Youll join the Fleet team within Business Services supporting the maintenance and operational readiness of the Citys diverse fleet of trucks plant and specialised equipment. Working alongside skilled tradespeople and reporting to the Team Leader Automotive Electricians youll contribute to ensuring fleet assets are safe reliable and ready to serve the community.


About the role

As an Automotive Electrical Technician youll carry out electrical maintenance diagnostics repairs and installation/removal of vehicle accessories across the Citys fleet. Working in both workshop and field environments youll follow safe work practices manage work orders accurately identify hazards and support continuous improvement across fleet maintenance systems. Your work will help ensure City assets remain taskworthy efficient and environmentally responsible through waste minimisation recycling and energy-conscious practices.

Were looking for people who have:

  • Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent trade.
  • Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology or relevant or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Class C Driver Licence (mandatory); HR Licence desirable.
  • Experience performing electrical maintenance repairs and installations on vehicles plant or equipment.
  • Strong commitment to safety quality and compliance processes.
  • Good timemanagement skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Physical fitness required to carry out handson workshop and field duties.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal teams and liaise with suppliers vendors and training organisations.
