Job Summary
R. J. Corman Switching Company is hiring Mechanical Team Members to join our growing team in Ste. Genevieve MO.
Responsibilities:
- Perform railcar inspections to identify defects.
- Perform railcar repairs per AAR standards.
- Track and document repairs as required.
- Ensure that vehicles and shops kept clean & safe.
- Ensure that the employees are working in a safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
- Railcar Mechanical experience preferred.
- Welding and oxygen/acetylene torching experience a plus.
- General knowledge of hydraulic and power tools.
- Must have good communication and people skills with demonstrated ability to develop team work and work with all levels of personnel in achieving our goals.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to perform physical strenuous work.
- Able to frequently bend stoop kneel and crouch.
- Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 80 lbs.
- Able to walk climb and maintain balance on equipment stairs ladders uneven terrain rails and ballast in a safe manner.
- Able to navigate into confined spaces if necessary.
Environmental Conditions: Performs duties in outside environments in and around moving locomotives railcars vehicles and equipment. Frequent exposure to weather elements. Appropriate PPE required.
