The Apprentice Inspector (Highways and Sewers) will address issues and public complaints to 311 in a timely response in the Borough of Staten Island reduces the backlog of responses and closes out reported defects. Inspects the grading paving and repaving of streets maintenance repair and construction of sewers and appurtenances house sewer connections retaining walls streets and street openings. Investigates complaints and reports on findings. Works in testing laboratory plants for asphalt or concrete and checks all materials used based on quality and grade. Operate passenger vehicle or light truck (to and from work assignments). Appear as a witness in court when necessary. Assist with related assignments specials and emergencies.
