We are seeking an experienced Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to provide senior clinical leadership and oversight across the is a flexible part-time role (approximately 40-50 hours per month) and may be engaged on an employment or contracted basis depending on the preferred arrangement of the successful RoleReporting to the Chief Executive Officer the Chief Medical Officer will provide strategic and operational medical leadership with a strong focus on clinical governance safety and quality across the Nexus Hospitals responsibilities include:Providing executive level medical leadership across the organisationCollaborate with the Chief Nurse and Director of Clinical Governance to oversee and enhance clinical governance accreditation regulatory compliance and quality improvement initiativesWorking closely with VMOs to ensure standards of high quality practice and conduct are maintained across the groupAdvising the executive team and Board on clinical risk safety and performanceAttendance at hospital Medical Advisory Committees as requiredContributing to incident management clinical review and systemwide learningSupporting a culture of clinical excellence accountability and continuous improvementOversight of clinical trial applications and governanceAbout YouTo be successful in this role you will bring:Registration as a medical practitioner in AustraliaSpecialist registration and private practice experience as a surgeon anaesthetist or physician (desirable but not essential)Experience with implementing and managing adherence to Private Hospital By-Laws - or equivalent instruments of engaging Visiting Medical Practitioners / SpecialistsDemonstrated experience in clinical governance quality and patient safetyPrevious experience in a Chief Medical Officer Medical Director or similar senior leadership role (desirable)Experience working with or alongside Medical Advisory CommitteesStrong judgement credibility and the ability to influence at executive and Board levelExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsFull Australian Working RightsRemunerationRemuneration will be commensurate with skills experience and the engagement modelFlexible arrangements available including employment or consulting/contract basisWhy Join Nexus HospitalsOpportunity to influence clinical quality and safety at a national levelFlexible part-time arrangement suited to senior clinicians or executivesChoice of employment or contracting engagementHow to ApplyFor a confidential discussion or to submit your application please contact:
