About the Job
We are seeking an experienced MRP Lead and Freight Assessment Specialist to join our Supply Chain team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the implementation and maintenance of our Material Requirements Planning (MRP) as well as assessing and optimizing our freight operations to reduce costs and improve efficiency. This is a critical role that will require strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
Job Content:
Oversee and manage a team of inventory monitors dedicated to tracking inventory levels by commodity
Ensure accurate and timely monitoring of inventory by commodity including:
Conducting regular inventory audits
Analyzing inventory trends and reporting discrepancies
Collaborating with warehouse staff to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement effective inventory management strategies to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts or overstocking
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory records and reports including:
- Inventory levels by commodity
Inventory turnover and usage rates
Stock levels and replenishment schedules
- Work closely with procurement logistics and production teams to ensure seamless inventory management and minimize disruptions to production
- Conduct freight assessments to determine the most cost-effective and efficient transportation methods for incoming and outgoing shipments including:
- Evaluating transportation modes (e.g. truck rail sea air)
- Identifying opportunities to optimize freight routing and scheduling
- Collaborating with logistics providers to negotiate rates and services
- Develop and maintain relationships with freight carriers and logistics providers to ensure reliable and cost-effective transportation services
- Monitor and analyze freight costs and performance metrics including:
- Freight spend by mode and commodity
- Transit times and routing efficiency
- Claims and damage rates
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Operations Logistic Supply Chain Business or related field
Cumulative 3.3/4.0 GPA or higher
This opening is for fresh graduate or less than 2 years of relevant working experience post-graduation preference in inventory management and freight logistics in a manufacturing or distribution environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and leadership skills with ability to motivate and direct a team
Knowledge of freight transportation modes rates and regulations
This role is to be based in TIM Kuala Lumpur (Onsite)
