Job Summary

Location: Long Island (Uniondale) NY (Hybrid opportunity)Description: Harris Beach Murtha seeks a mid-level lateral litigation and compliance attorney to counsel and represent health care facilities and practitioners and other entities and individuals in the health care industry with respect to regulatory compliance audits investigations clinical operations and business operations matters. The ideal candidate must have a working knowledge in business and regulatory aspects of health care law including Stark Anti-Kickback HIPAA fraud and abuse compliance medical staff matters and reimbursement Health Care Associate will have the opportunity to:Conduct legal research and collaborate with senior attorneys on strategyWork on government (Medicare and Medicaid) and commercial payer audits and investigationsWork on Medicare and Medicaid fraud investigations by federal and State government agenciesCreate compliance programs for health care providers suppliers and managed care plansDraft and revise compliance policies and proceduresAnalyze records and transactions related to business disputes and investigations as to potential client claimsStructure negotiate and draft contracts and other business arrangementsAdvise clients on a wide range of compliance and health regulatory mattersThe firm requires a minimum of 1800 billable hours annuallyApplications are encouraged and desired if you have:3-5 years experience in health care and regulatory and/or complianceJuris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law schoolAdmission to NYS bar (or ability to waive in)Admission to New Jersey Connecticut and/or Massachusetts bar (preferred)Exceptionally strong writing skills are requiredExcellent verbal communication skillsDemonstrated high level organizational skills for prioritizing workload Demonstrated ability to absorb process and understand new information rapidlyAbility to manage competing prioritiesAbility to maintain high standards of performance Ability to exhibit conscientiousness dedication self-discipline and a sense of responsibility A professional cooperative positive and flexible attitudeAbility to work with diverse personalities within various levels of the organizationMilitary experience welcomeSalary information below will vary depending upon relevant experience for the position and geographic Beach Murtha is not accepting candidate submissions from recruiting agencies for this position during the first two weeks after posting.
