Job Description:

This position will allow the student to assist with supporting manufacturing operations by maintaining process documentation and participating in continuous improvement activities. The student would reside and work in Plant 7 where Hydraulic Steering Gears Pumps and Steering Columns are produced for original equipment manufacturers.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing and maintaining plant floor layouts
• Participate in lean manufacturing continuous improvement efforts
• Conduct Time Studies
• Conduct downtime analysis
• Big data analytics and basic statistics
• Update work instructions for manufacturing operations
• Update visual aids for manufacturing operations
• Generate power point presentations
• Assist supervisor in any administrative work
• Work with dynamic operations teams to enhance manufacturing production

Requirements:

• Candidate must be attending a 4-year university local to Saginaw
• Candidate must be studying engineering in pursuit of a bachelors degree
• Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters
  • Up to 40 in the summer
• Must have cumulative 2.7 GPA on 4.0 scale
• Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters
• Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
