Description
BASIC PURPOSE:
Logistics Planner I position is responsible for coordinating daily transportation and distribution activities to ensure efficient and cost-effective movement of goods. Supports supply chain operations by planning shipments monitoring inventory levels scheduling deliveries and maintaining accurate documentation. Works closely with warehouse transportation and customer service teams to meet service level expectations while maintaining compliance with company policies and safety standards. Demonstrates strong analytical skills attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inventory control Tracking of days on hand levels (DOH) at the OCSC to assure we are not short shipping the customers.
- Design level control Monitoring design levels at all locations to assure we are shipping the correct design level and not creating any unnecessary obsolescence.
- Placing orders to outside warehouses Create and track orders to outside warehouses to maintain the correct DOH at the OCSC.
- Inbound/Outbound Working with various carriers for deliveries to and from the OCSC to assure all pickups and deliveries are on time.
- Routing instructions Communicate with CEVA Logistics (Hondas logistics company) on updates and changes to the schedule.
- DOI Assist in creating and processing of obsolete inventory.
- Continuous Improvement - Analyze data procedures processes for continuous improvement and cost savings for internal and external customers. Provide support participation and contribution on cross functional value added and growth projects.
QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates degree or Technical Certificate
- 1-3 years experience in production material planning or warehouse operations
- Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets and pivot tables) and Microsoft word
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong communication; written and verbal
