Job Summary
R.J. Corman Switching Company is seeking aCDL-A Operatorin Ste. Genevieve MO.
This position operatesspecialized equipment in support ofinspection installation andmaintenance ofrailroad track.
Responsibilities:
- Operate Specialized equipment. ( Truck PrenticeTrucketc.)
- Performs preventative maintenance on heavy or specialized equipment.
- Maintains proper equipment appearance and cleanliness.
- May perform labor duties as needed.
- Communicates with supervisor throughout the job process.
- Ensures working conditions aresafeand proper PPE is being used as job duties require.
- Follow DOTregulations;ensureproper permits and driving regulations are followed.
Specialized or Technical Knowledge or Education and Experience:â
- Demonstrated operation experience and equipment knowledge.
- CDL A License anddemonstratedperformance operating CDL-A required vehicles
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot simple mechanical failures.
- Previousexperience in railroad construction or maintenance preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to perform physical strenuous work
- Able tofrequentlybend stoop kneel and crouch
- Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50lbs
- Requires occasional use of 30lbclaw bar to remove spikes requiring application of 50lbsof force
- Requires occasional use of 10lbsledgehammer to drive spikes requiring application of 75lbsof force
- Able to walk climb andmaintainbalance on equipment stairs ladders uneven terrainrailsand ballast in a safe manner
- Able to navigate into confined spaces if necessary
Environmental Conditions:Work is performed outsideinvarying types of environmental conditions.
Major or Unusual Problems: beable to work away fromhomeincluding long hours &weekendsas necessary.
