Description
This contract position is an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician looking to make a significant impact in the medical practice field providing essential anesthetic care to patients.
As a Locum MD in Anesthesiology you will be responsible for administering anesthesia monitoring patient vitals and ensuring patient safety during surgical procedures. Your expertise will play a crucial role in enhancing patient outcomes and contributing to the overall efficiency of our medical team.
Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia to patients before during and after surgical procedures
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond to any changes in condition
- Collaborate with surgeons and medical staff to develop anesthesia care plans
- Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations and obtain informed consent from patients
- Manage postoperative pain relief and monitor recovery from anesthesia
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a sterile environment
- Educate patients about anesthesia and address any concerns
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records of patient care
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Active medical license in the state of practice
- Completion of an accredited anesthesiology residency program
- Board certification or eligibility in anesthesiology
- Strong knowledge of anesthesia techniques and patient management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7a-5p
Weeknight and weekend beeper call required
Patient Population: Adults and minimal healthy pediatrics
OB cases required
EMR: Epic
Board certification required
Paid travel & expenses
